Not much to update...

I've got nothing new, unless people like looking at floor plans and such. Interior architecture has been keeping me super busy, so I haven't had much time to misc. arts. Haven't improved (illustration-wise) during my time at RISD at all. Ah well, I love what I do and I suppose it's a necessary (temporary) sacrifice for my major (I'm still sad and miss drawing though D: ). I've mostly been doing flobs lately and haven't had time to attempt more polished looking art.

In other news, with the economy as crappy as it is, the chances of me getting an architecture internship look slim to none. Can't really hope for another repeat of last year's miracle... ^^; *sigh*

Also, sorry for not responding to comments. I haven't been on in aaaaaages and I'm not terribly keen on responding to hundreds of comments... @_____@ As a whole: Thank you for your comments!

Tablet = <3

Yaaaay~! I finally got a tablet! ^_______^
Aaaah, I've been wanting one of these things for ages. Actually, I would have been grateful for a mouse (anything to avoid getting finger cramps from working with a laptop trackpad), but my dad offered to get me a tablet instead. I still had to pay for it, but I'm just really happy that he was okay with me spending a couple hundred dollars (ooookay, I guess that's not much compared to the $50,000 per year college tuition.. ^^; ) on art stuff.

I'm hoping my winter session classes will be relatively "easy" and that I'll actually have time to go back to drawing. I feel kind of silly whenever I go to my gallery--a lot of the stuff I have is from 7th grade....that I uploaded for the sake of posting something. I'm thinking of eventually scrapping some of the old stuff and starting over. xP

WTF D<

It's bad enough that people are stealing my shit all the time and claiming it as their own, but now people are accusing ME of stealing MY OWN ART? What the fuck?! =/

I'm sick and tired of all the comments and notes (+ PMs/comments on Gaia) from people who doubt the work is mine because the "see it all the time on Photobucket and other art sites." Should I slap an obnoxiously large watermark on art of my drawings? Would that even help? I seem to always be able to find copies of my pics floating around the internet without the watermarks...Other people just trace over the pic or recolor it and say "this is mine!!!111!!". Dude, the art isn't even that good. Why the hell would you want to steal it?! (not that I'm implying you should steal good art) :x

Akdgklbakjrb....!!!

My art is posted on Gaia under "Crimson_Wolfe" and is often signed with "Krad_Hikari." Crimson_Wolfe used to be my main account before I switched over to Krad_Hikari. I still post art with Crimson_Wolfe's account for the sake of keeping my pics organized under one name instead of....say....20. I've also posted a couple pics on FanArt Central as "Krad_Hikari." Pleeeeease stop accusing me of stealing my own art.

Anyone else claiming my art (my Krad pics in particular) as their own is a liar and a fucking art thief. D<

edit: huh, apparently I posted it on media miner a looooong time ago. Whoops, forgot about that. xD;;

ZOMG college...T_T

I'm heading off to Rhode Island on September 5th, but the dorms don't open until the 8th....>.<;; Classes start on the 12th.

Ugh...I really worried that I'll struggle through the first year at RISD (Rhode Island School of Design). My technical skill is definitely not so solid that I would feel comfortable with projects. I'm not exactly a very creative person, so I can't really use brilliant ideas to make up for my mediocre skills. There's really no right or wrong in art, so teacher's impression of the student probably plays a role in the grading process....D; I just hope I'll have a decent impression on my teachers. Normally, I wouldn't be so nitpicky about grades, but my parents are planning on withdrawing from RISD after the first semester if I don't get all A's....T____T The tuition + costs of attending are more than what we can afford (tis about $50,000 for one year) so my parents are constantly nagging me about how much cheaper UCLA is. My dad keep telling me to get ready to work on transfer applications....but I worked really hard to get into RISD.....T____T

*sulks* ;____; *clings to Krad plushie*
I :heart: my Krad plushie~ ^^ I ish too lazy to make him a pair of wings though.....>.<;; *luffs luffs luffs* :heart:

**Quoted from Celebistar's Journal: **

Well, I knew it might happen someday, I just wasn't sure how soon. But sure enough, while I was browsing youtube the other day, I came across a slideshow video dedicated to Jaden/Alexis. Curious, I watched it, only to discover it contained a slew of fanart from various sites, some from DA itself. I found my picture (Kiss Me) in there, along with several of qu-ko's and other Japanese artists.

'Okay' I thought to myself, 'I'll just contact the maker and ask them to take it down', like I always have when I discover people abusing fanart. As it was, this would not be the case this time...

Here is a copy of the reply I recieved from the maker of the video (it's unedited, and the person doesn't speak English as a native language):

"Im sorry but why everybody does that they make fanarts videos there are thousands of them why do you only warn me because i put your fanart in a video?If you put this in a site you should know that anybody can stole it and use it anywhere whats the big deal but i dont name it as stolen i just loved your pic and put it why does that bother you??? then you should warn other users do everybody does fanarts video"

**end quote**

What is it about today's people that makes them think stealing is okay just because everyone else is doing it? Do you regularly walk into an art gallery and walk out with an armload of paintings that you think is cool? Do you take pictures of other artist's work in musuems, make copies, and sell them under your own name? What make EVERYONE think stealing "okay"? Stealing from someone's art gallery, whether it's online or in real life, is infuriating. If you MUST take someone else's work, AT LEAST give them credit for it. How would you like it if you spent hours, weeks, days, or even years working on something, only to have someone steal it in an instant? It's so frustrating for artists to find other people taking credit for your artwork, and it's even worse when they refuse to take it down, claiming that "it's okay because everyone is doing it!"

I can understand that a lot of people like to save artwork because they like it. It's totally okay with me if it's for your own, personal collection. However, it's NOT okay if you take credit for ANY part of the art. You can't just add a background or draw a mustache on someone else's work and call it your own!

I don't CARE if EVERYONE is stealing art (to make videos, t-shirts, banners, posters, etc.)--that does not give ANYONE the right to use anyone else's work without explicit permission from the artist.

.....I'm done ranting for now...>_<
